Hello, I'm Karim.

For more than a decade, I've worked in purposeful leadership learning, facilitating experiential programs across Asia for corporate executives and government officials.

Today, I am working with an EdTech start-up focused on redesigning society, pursuing a Masters in Teaching Mindfulness Based Courses at Bangor University in Wales, honoured to be a trustee at Breathworks, a leading UK-based mindfulness organisation with 600+ accredited teachers worldwide, and (according to my wife and two daughters) watching way too much rugby in what little free-time remains!

Through the Back to Being Method I overcame 10 years of chronic lumbar pain and got back to being a healthy, active and mindful father, husband and lifelong learner.

My Story

In my late twenties, I was debilitated by a degenerative lumbar condition that turned my life upside down.

Unable to work, play or even carry my infant daughter, I spiralled down into despair and depression.

Nothing I tried seemed to alleviate the pain and discomfort. The turning point for me was harnessing the power of mindfulness to create a stable base from which I could reclaim my life.

This newfound perspective and resilience allowed me to make significant changes - from diet and exercise to sleep and posture - that helped me spiral upwards and get back on my feet (literally!) without the need for medication or surgery.

Now I'm grateful for the opportunity to share what I've learned along the way to help others transform their relationship with lower back pain so they too can live a healthy, active and mindful life.
